Seabright Beach (officially known as Twin Lakes Beach) is a sweeping stretch of white sands with low cliffs spilling dark green foliage and wild flowers, with quintessential coastal cedars along the base. The southern end of the beach is bounded by the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor, with the Yacht Harbor Lighthouse (Walton) jutting out into Monterey Bay. The Northern end of Seabright Beach is a sandy headland, a cliff-point pathway with views of the Santa Cruz Wharf, Boardwalk and San Lorenzo River Estuary. The lighthouse is visible looking south.
A Variety of Options
Wedding couples are encouraged to explore the various sites on the beach and its peripherals to locate the spot that most perfectly fits their spirit. Although Seabright is an urban beach, it has a surprisingly wild expansiveness. Couples will know instinctively whether they are going to tuck themselves in somewhere (perhaps in a naturally-formed enclave created by the worn away sandy cliffs bedecked with gorgeous Monterey Pines) or be loud & proud (at the lighthouse walkway end, for instance). Santa Cruz folk who happen by love to congratulate the newlyweds!
Above the beach and across East Cliff Road (at Pilkington) is Tyrrell Park. Though only the size of one city block, Tyrrell Park has magnificent trees and a huge blue whale sculpture. The small Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History stands within the park.
