In the early 70's I found myself working on my Master's Degree in Educational Psychology in the Bay Area. Throughout the history of humankind, people have tried to make sense of life in general and of their personal predicaments in particular. Along that route I was introduced to Existential Therapy and served many years as a successful psychodramatist; until shows like Oprah and Donohue started doing in front of cameras for millions what we had been doing in small rooms involving one client and one coach.
Some thirty years later, I am still engaging people in exploring what is important in their life and how to get rid of old baggage and create new life. I have facilitated hundreds of small groups; some work groups exploring their mission and purpose; others assisting families talking about the elephant in the middle of the room that no one says a word about.
I served in the U.S. Navy and completed two tours of duty in Vietnam (one on a Destroyer and the other a Patrol Gun Boat). A singer and an actor at heart, I find time to support and perform in local Community Theatre and take some pride in using the Arts to foster Activism in a world that can sometimes be as painful as it is joyous. Using the Arts to foster Activism: that may very well be why my day does not begin until after the ladies on The View have filled me with inspiration and motivation.
What the World needs now, more than anything, is love. And, I am quite convinced that we were not put on this earth to be alone or to "feel" alone. The principle tenet of Existential theory is creativity, warmth and personalized solutions. So, I am very excited about sharing the passion for helping couples, all types of couples, tell their unique love story in Everybody's Favorite City San Francisco. Where is your heart?
